Meet Our Team.
My favorite Bar Method move is Arabesque—underneath that graceful exterior are a lot of muscles working with power and determination.
I fell in love with Bar Method the first time I took class. There was something unique about it and though I didn’t know exactly what, it didn’t matter—I was hooked. Soon I was walking down the street standing taller and straighter. Soon after that I was skiing like I’d never skied before (hello quad strength). And finally, I had unimaginable relief from a shoulder and neck injury that had haunted me for years. All good stuff, but the best was yet to come. Not only does The Bar Method improve alignment and strengthen muscles—it also improves confidence and opens you up to a community of strong women (and flexible men!). The mindfulness of the instructors and each of the exercises leads to an empowering hour, which, if repeated time and time again, is life changing. My classes are infused with my passion for Bar Method; I want every student to leave my classes feeling accomplished, strong and ready to take on the world.
One of my favorite Bar Method exercises is Chair. It intensely challenges my thighs while also allowing me to really work my upper back and posture muscles. A set of chair makes me feel strong and confident.
I fell in love with Bar after taking a different type of barre class in my hometown and then coming to Colorado to find the Bar Method. I was a gymnast growing up, and after I stopped the sport I struggled to find a workout that not only kept me from getting bored, but also allowed me to engage my entire body in the way that gymnastics did. I tried my first Bar class and felt immediately connected to the precision and form that Bar required to challenge my body. I love leaving each class feeling renewed from a great workout.
I am inspired in class in part by how personal Bar is. It is an hour each day that I get to commit to grounding myself and revitalizing my body and mind. In addition, the Bar community inspires me throughout classes. I love the sense of camaraderie that is built when the whole room is shaking together, and I cherish seeing others work hard in class and strive to reach their personal goals.
My favorite move is Arabesque with Fold Over a close second. I love it when my standing leg is shaking uncontrollably to the point that I almost can‘t stand it-- but I tell myself it’s mind over matter!
The Bar Method has changed my life for the best. The results that I saw as a student inspired me to keep coming back. My upper body became more toned and defined and I gained greater mind body awareness. Then when I got the opportunity to teach it gave me a new sense of purpose. I learned things about myself I never knew existed in me. I love when new clients join and you can see them getting stronger and stronger week by week! That’s what drives me as a teacher.
As a student I’m definitely inspired by my fellow classmates and the teacher. I love the encouragement that my fellow teachers give and seeing the others in class work hard inspires me. One of my greatest strengths as a teacher is my ability to connect with my students and motivate them. Hopefully they leave my class feeling inspired and stronger!
My favorite Bar Method exercise is Pretzel.
Since joining Bar in 2011, I feel I have become a stronger more confident person. After having children, Bar has been the one workout technique that has helped me gain core strength and muscle tone.
Most importantly, the studio environment is nothing but positive and I have met amazing people in class.
My favorite bar move is Chair.
I love the culture of women whom I take Bar Method classes with! Since starting Bar Method, my biggest personal achievement has been simply sticking to the same routine; my body craves the shake because the strength I feel in my muscles afterwards is so empowering! Coming to the studio for class is no longer a struggle for me, it’s a part of my lifestyle!
