My favorite Bar Method move is Arabesque—underneath that graceful exterior are a lot of muscles working with power and determination.

I fell in love with Bar Method the first time I took class. There was something unique about it and though I didn’t know exactly what, it didn’t matter—I was hooked. Soon I was walking down the street standing taller and straighter. Soon after that I was skiing like I’d never skied before (hello quad strength). And finally, I had unimaginable relief from a shoulder and neck injury that had haunted me for years. All good stuff, but the best was yet to come. Not only does The Bar Method improve alignment and strengthen muscles—it also improves confidence and opens you up to a community of strong women (and flexible men!). The mindfulness of the instructors and each of the exercises leads to an empowering hour, which, if repeated time and time again, is life changing. My classes are infused with my passion for Bar Method; I want every student to leave my classes feeling accomplished, strong and ready to take on the world.

My favorite Bar Method exercise is Diagonal Seat—it always gets me right into the muscle, not only on the working leg but the standing leg as well. I also love the attention to posture in the exercise at the 45 degree angle. It makes me feel powerful.

Bar Method has been a game changer for me. After the first few months it set my body into a "new normal" that left me feeling fit and lean. It has been my "go to" exercise during many stages of my life from running marathons to having a baby. I can attribute this workout to helping me rebound quickly while keeping me strong and sane throughout it all.

Students know that if they take my class they are fair game. I want to push them to work as hard and as efficiently as possible to make a big impact on their bodies in a single hour. If that happens with a little sarcasm and humor so be it!

One of my favorite Bar Method exercises is Chair. It intensely challenges my thighs while also allowing me to really work my upper back and posture muscles. A set of chair makes me feel strong and confident.

I fell in love with Bar after taking a different type of barre class in my hometown and then coming to Colorado to find the Bar Method. I was a gymnast growing up, and after I stopped the sport I struggled to find a workout that not only kept me from getting bored, but also allowed me to engage my entire body in the way that gymnastics did. I tried my first Bar class and felt immediately connected to the precision and form that Bar required to challenge my body. I love leaving each class feeling renewed from a great workout.

I am inspired in class in part by how personal Bar is. It is an hour each day that I get to commit to grounding myself and revitalizing my body and mind. In addition, the Bar community inspires me throughout classes. I love the sense of camaraderie that is built when the whole room is shaking together, and I cherish seeing others work hard in class and strive to reach their personal goals.

My favorite Bar Method exercise is Arm Dancing. I always feel the burn right away in the first set. I know it’s working immediately when I start to shake; nothing carves my waist quite like it!

I danced all my life and made it my major in college. Although dancing meant a lot to me, my constant struggle with arthritis and joint pain made me veer away from it in search of other physical activities. During my hunt for an alternative workout, I found the Bar Method and its focus on strength and flexibility was perfect for me. Bar Method is a killer workout and its emphasis on good alignment and posture were just what I needed. Last ski season I noticed a huge difference in my speed, strength and form and I give credit for this improvement to the Bar Method.

The most rewarding part of being an instructor is when I see the positive changes in student’s bodies that comes from dedication, commitment and focus. The moment when you see a student close their eyes, embrace the shake, and push themselves to a new level is pretty awesome. The adoration clients have for my preferred way to workout allows me to better my practice and improve the classes I teach.

My favorite move is Push-ups because it works all major muscle groups in one fell swoop! Push-ups also provide a platform where you can constantly work towards advancing your strength in the move.

My love for the method was an easy courtship, as I tried everything under the sun to slim down in college (personal trainers, half-marathons, yoga, spinning, etc.) in my transition away from a bulky basketball player stature. All other forms of exercise paled in comparison to the change I saw and strength I gained through Bar Method classes. Immediately obsessed, I went almost every day for two years, and would become anxious if I couldn’t get my Bar class in! Teacher training is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but being an instructor has added a new dimension to my life. I love cultivating relationships with clients, and the rigor in my teaching style is driven by my goal to challenge students at a level that empowers their personal Bar Method journey.

My favorite move is Arabesque with Fold Over a close second. I love it when my standing leg is shaking uncontrollably to the point that I almost can‘t stand it-- but I tell myself it’s mind over matter!

The Bar Method has changed my life for the best. The results that I saw as a student inspired me to keep coming back. My upper body became more toned and defined and I gained greater mind body awareness. Then when I got the opportunity to teach it gave me a new sense of purpose. I learned things about myself I never knew existed in me. I love when new clients join and you can see them getting stronger and stronger week by week! That’s what drives me as a teacher.

As a student I’m definitely inspired by my fellow classmates and the teacher. I love the encouragement that my fellow teachers give and seeing the others in class work hard inspires me. One of my greatest strengths as a teacher is my ability to connect with my students and motivate them. Hopefully they leave my class feeling inspired and stronger!

Favorite move: That is a hard one, I love pretzel, Arabesque & High Curl with the ball. I feel each of these exercises right off the bat and love to feel that shake!

What drew me to Bar Method was finally finding a program that truly lengthens and elongates my muscles. Feeling the results of Bar with leaner, stronger muscles has kept me coming back as has the increased core strength, improved posture and just overall body awareness. These results-- along with the amazing group of teachers and clients, makes Bar Method one of my favorites places. It is also why I decided to recently become certified as a barre instructor. It is a real joy to help others see and feel the amazing benefits of Bar Method.

My favorite move is Arabesque. I grew up dancing ballet and after a grueling collegiate volleyball experience, I searched for years to find a sustainable exercise regimen that wouldn‘t re-injure my body and would help me regain that long, lean dancer’s physique. After hearing whisperings in the yoga studio‘s locker room about the new Bar Method location, I hopped on-line to research it. I was sold without even taking my first class- this is what I’ve been looking for! I bought a package, and took my first class the next day. I fell in love with working hard for Becky, and almost immediately wanted to become a teacher.

I love being apart of a community that sincerely cares for themselves and each other. Bar Method students make the time to strengthen their bodies, value their hour of "me" time, and work hard for their results. Smiles abound inside the studio walls, and even the roughest of days can be alleviated after a little shaking!

As for my teaching style--this isn‘t "Boot Camp" and I’m not here to beat you up. I want my students to use my positivity, energy, and humor to work at their peak for the hour we’re together, and leave feeling mentally and physically stronger and more confident.

My favorite Bar Method exercise is Pretzel.
Since joining Bar in 2011, I feel I have become a stronger more confident person. After having children, Bar has been the one workout technique that has helped me gain core strength and muscle tone.
Most importantly, the studio environment is nothing but positive and I have met amazing people in class.

My favorite move is Arabesque.

A friend brought me to bar class about a year ago. I was hooked after my first class! I love the challenge of the classes and the fact that it works my entire body. I now make it a priority to take class 4-5 times per week. Since starting Bar Method, I have noticed my body gaining strength all over but I especially love the incredible leg strength and definition I have achieved.

My favorite Bar Method exercise is Zinger.

I love The Bar Method because it is a unique balance of power and elegance. Not only is Bar Method an intense and effective work out, everyone in the studio is friendly, welcoming, and supportive and all of the instructors are extremely motivating. I like to use Bar Method as an escape from the chaos of life where one hour a day I get to redirect my energy and focus on myself. One of my favorite things about Bar Method is that every class continues to challenge me both mentally and physically because there are constantly more options to take and always opportunities to improve. Every time I leave the studio I feel even more accomplished and confident.

My favorite bar move is Chair.

I love the culture of women whom I take Bar Method classes with! Since starting Bar Method, my biggest personal achievement has been simply sticking to the same routine; my body craves the shake because the strength I feel in my muscles afterwards is so empowering! Coming to the studio for class is no longer a struggle for me, it’s a part of my lifestyle!

My favorite exercise is Pretzel.

I’ve been taking classes since 2012. I was bored with my workout regimen. My workouts only consisted of cardio based exercises (hiking, biking and running). I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted. I felt like I was getting bulkier instead of leaner. My boss’ wife swore by The Bar Method and told me the workout would be an answer in seeing the leaner appearance I was looking for. She gave me a month unlimited gift card and I was hooked.

I committed to 3-5 times a week when I first joined. Within 3 months, I noticed my arms and thighs getting leaner and my waist appeared smaller and tighter. During working hours, I wasn’t hunched over the computer, but sitting up tall and straight. I was completely sold on the process and upped my class attendance to 5-7 days a week.

The Bar Method has also helped with managing everyday life stress. When I walk into the studio, I usually have work, errands and lists on my mind. When I take my last exhale at the end of the hour, my mind is clear and I feel energized for the day ahead. I’ve never had that mental clarity with any workout, including yoga! My biggest success has been my pant size. I haven’t been this size since I was 18 playing tennis every day. This past September, I got married in the dress I always wanted, thanks to the workout and team at The Bar Method!

I have been practicing The Bar Method for over three years now. It is the only group class that I have loved enough to stick with for more than a couple months. The exercises are always challenging, no matter how long I’ve been coming and they tighten and tone my whole body quickly. I also love our Bar Method community and was excited to start working the front desk almost two years ago. It is a second home and family for me out here in Colorado!
